From November 16 to December 8, 2024, the 18th edition of Festival Bach Montreal brings the city to life with concerts of classical and baroque music. To open the Festival, Argentine conductor Maestro Leonardo García Alarcón presents Bach at the height of his art, the Mass in B minor, with the Festival Orchestra and Choir. For three weeks, soloists and local and international musical ensembles will highlight the music of J.S. Bach: Cantatas, Suites for solo cello and the Well-Tempered Clavier... Electro-Baroque makes its appearance at the Festival with the venue of the Berlin ensemble Musica-Sequenza. For the closing concert, the basilica will resound to the sounds of the Cantata 214 (Christmas Oratorio), conducted by Clemens Schuldt.
