10 Ways to Celebrate the New Year in the Quartier des Spectacles

Celebrate the arrival of 2026 by immersing yourself in a vibrant, festive, and creative nightlife, both indoors and outdoors. On December 31, Montreal’s cultural heart will light up to welcome the New Year in a warm, unifying, and unforgettable atmosphere!
From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the SAT hosts a spectacular party to ring in 2026—two floors, 12 artists and an electrifying program.
At Espace SAT, machìna (experimental electro), Ploy (UK bass, garage, tech-house), Rose Kourts (underground house) and DJs Evita and kiju create a thrilling ambiance.
In the Satosphère, immersive 360° visuals by Mostly Noise and Aphex Redditor accompany sets by Sard (techno, groove, downtempo funk), Maara (dance, energetic trance), Hiroki (psychedelic techno dub), anabasine and breakcheck (house, techno, groove).
Starting at 8 p.m., Club Soda presents a festive night with L’Expédition, a Cowboys Fringants tribute band. Come and sing along to the legendary group’s beloved classics—En berne, Les étoiles filantes, Toune d’automne, Tant qu’on aura de l’amour and more—and be part of a truly memorable New Year’s countdown.
The Quartier Latin is another New Year’s hotspot, with parties including the Party du jour de l’An Rocky & Friends with Marc Déry at Bistro à Jojo at 10:30 p.m., and the Party du nouvel an 2026 at Pub L’Île Noire starting at 10 p.m. The many bars of Saint-Denis St. are also great places to hang with friends.
At midnight, a special countdown by artist Jeremy Fassio will be projected on the façades of Édifice WILDER | Espace danse, the Grande Bibliothèque, UQAM’s Pavillon Président-Kennedy and the projection surface outside Saint-Laurent metro station to mark the arrival of 2026.
On Esplanade Tranquille, Patins Platines presents a special New Year’s edition from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Montreal’s Bonne Famille organization brings together local DJs and other artists to celebrate the values of sharing and mutual aid that define our city. Café Tranquille is also staying open late, giving the public access to a warm space and delicious snacks.
The Great Montreal Christmas Market has special extended hours, until 1 a.m. The full program is still to be announced, but two highlights are confirmed: DJ Daven Ray and his guests get the party started, followed by the RSVP collective to ring in the New Year!
