The Nutcracker: an enchanting ballet!

Every holiday season, Montreal audiences gather for "The Nutcracker," choreographed by Quebec's Fernand Nault to the resplendent score of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Drawing from E.T.A. Hoffmann's fantastical tale, the ballet tells the story of Clara, a gentle yet resolute young girl who, on Christmas Eve, finds herself in the midst of a surreal battle between toy soldiers and menacing rats. In a stroke of magic, her Christmas gift—a wooden nutcracker—comes to life, rescues her, and whisks her away to a world of enchantment.

From the icy stillness of the Kingdom of Snow to the shimmering delicacy of the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Land of Sweets, Fernand Nault's staging infuses the timeless poetry of classical ballet with profound warmth. Featuring 165 performers and accompanied by a live performance by Les Grands Ballets Orchestra, "The Nutcracker" is more than a holiday classic; it is an enduring tradition, an irresistible journey into wonder.
