Immerse yourself in the performances of choreographers and dancers Lina Cruz and Sonia Gómez: a journey through sensibilities and raw materials, from Quebec poetry to a unique artistic expression from Catalonia.
1+1 miniatures by Lina Cruz
1 + 1 miniatures brings together two very short solo pieces created by Lina Cruz, a Montreal-based choreographer and founder of Productions Fila 13. PORTRAIT, inspired by a poem by Hector de Saint-Denys Garneau, delicately explores the beauty and fragility of existence, balancing lightness and depth. RECUL, which follows, is based on a text by Claude Gauvreau and evokes the right to be different as well as the realities of living on the margins. Together, these two miniatures create a sensitive dialogue between poetry and movement, blending introspection, commitment, and the evocative power of the body.
ELK by Sonia Gómez
With ELK, Sonia Gómez continues a reflection begun with her work *Bailarina* on time, experience, and presence on stage. Inspired by her 25 years of practice, the piece creates a dialogue between the dancer’s body and raw and transformed materials—clay, wool, glass, wood, and latex—to forge sensitive interactions between the visible and the invisible. Trained in Barcelona and Brussels, the Spanish artist has developed a performative approach that has been presented in numerous countries across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
