Martin McDonagh, Shades of Black

As Martin McDonagh's brand new film, Wild Horse Nine, hits the big screen, the Cinémathèque québécoise invites you to revisit his four previous films. Together, they bear witness to the British-Irish filmmaker's singular world, characterized by his exhilarating dark humor and a taste for savage, absurd farces, which he uses to explore the complexity of human relationships in ever-changing ways. Beneath its incisive style lies a cinema that proves to be deeply perceptive and far from simplistic.
