Le faux Soir

November 1943, occupied Belgium. As the famed Brussels daily Le Soir becomes an indispensable propaganda tool for the Nazi occupiers, a group of resistance fighters hatches a wild idea: print a fake edition of the paper to commemorate the November 11, 1918 armistice and lift Belgians' spirits against the Germans. In the utmost secrecy, a race against the clock ensues to pull off this ambitious act of defiance.

Skillfully blending historical drama and heist film, this latest tour de force from Belgian filmmaker Michaël R. Roskam (Bullhead) is a remarkably effective suspense film, crowned by an impressive cast that includes Arieh Worthalter and Mélanie Thierry, among others.
