Nuits d'Afrique Productions is a nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by founding president Lamine Touré (named a “Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec” in 2013) and Suzanne Rousseau, co-founder and CEO. Our mission is to showcase, promote, and develop world music at the local, national, and international levels. True pioneers in the field of world music in Quebec for 40 years, Productions Nuits d'Afrique has been the first to present, over the years, internationally renowned artists such as Tiken Jah Fakoly, Miriam Makeba, Papa Wemba, Femi Kuti, Angélique Kidjo, and the Skatalites... With a keen ear, the festival also presents a wide selection of emerging artists such as Hindi Zahra, Inna Modja, Yael Naim, and Dub Incorporation. Located in Montreal, a city of music, the festival works closely with artists from the local music scene and never tires of introducing a growing audience to the incredible diversity of local styles and music. These years of experience have made Productions Nuits d’Afrique and the festival the premier event for world music in Canada. For 40 years, Nuits d’Afrique has been an extraordinary window to the world.
