The Montreal International Jazz Festival is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 by Alain Simard in association with André Ménard, Denyse McCann, and Alain de Grosbois, to introduce the world's finest musicians to a wide audience.

Recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest jazz festival on the planet, the Festival has been synonymous with musical passion and unforgettable moments for over 40 years. It's where living legends rub shoulders with the most promising up-and-coming artists, and where jazz thrives at the crossroads of genres and influences.

Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, closed to vehicular traffic and open until midnight, the Festival site becomes the meeting place for jazz lovers from around the world for 10 days. Together, they come to enjoy nearly 150 indoor concerts and the renowned outdoor program featuring over 350 free, open-air shows, presented in various locations, including a Place des Festivals specially redesigned and transformed for the event.

Through its larger-than-life atmosphere, the Montreal International Jazz Festival reflects Montreal's vibrant nightlife through its energy, intensity, and, of course, its community.

*Please note that the program may change throughout the festival, in terms of scheduling, or depending on weather conditions.
