Émilie Chabot named Director, Strategic Development by the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership

Montreal, May 3, 2021 – The Quartier des Spectacles Partnership (PQDS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Émilie Chabot to the position of Director, Strategic Development. With more than 15 years of experience in the culture, innovation and social inclusion sectors, her considerable expertise in business development, government relations, funding and partnership-building will ensure the success of the Partnership’s projects. She will oversee the ongoing major initiative to enhance the district’s cultural value by monitoring growth opportunities in urbanism, tourism, social development and the economy.

“We are very happy to welcome Émilie Chabot to our team. Her appointment is part of a broader effort, begun last year, to strengthen and renew the management committee. We are fortunate to benefit from her expertise in strategic development, cultural management and philanthropy. Her contributions will be particularly valuable in the diversification of our financial partnerships and the reinforcement and positioning of the Partnership’s activities on a larger scale,” said PQDS executive director Éric Lefebvre.

Ms. Chabot began her career in private and public funding with Wapikoni mobile, on a contract basis, then went on to become director of business development and special projects at Exeko, an organization that operates cultural and intellectual outreach programs aimed at promoting social inclusion and diversity.

In 2015, she joined the team at the Conseil des arts de Montréal, where she was the assistant director responsible for philanthropy and partnerships. In that role she conceived and implemented numerous programs, projects and events aimed at supporting philanthropic development in Montreal’s arts community, as well as managing all agreements related to the organization’s strategic projects.

A graduate of HEC Montréal and the Université de Montréal, Ms. Chabot initiated the “Repenser la philanthropie culturelle à Montréal” project in collaboration with HEC Montréal and Impact social of the Conseil des arts de Montréal with Innoweave, a McConnell Foundation program. She is an accomplished strategist who has completed numerous consulting and advisory contracts over the course of her career, including missions for the Maison de l’innovation sociale. She serves on four boards of directors, including Architecture sans frontières Québec


ABOUT THE QUARTIER DES SPECTACLES PARTNERSHIP

The Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, founded in 2003, is a non-profit organization with more than 85 members active in the district. It is responsible for animating the Quartier des Spectacles by programming cultural activities, managing and animating public spaces, providing distinctive illumination and promoting the Quartier as a must-visit cultural destination. The Partnership benefits from the support of the Ville de Montréal.
