Belgo

Le Belgo is best known for housing one of the largest concentrations of contemporary art galleries in Quebec and Canada. Located in a former commercial building in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, this dynamic art center brings together several artist-run centers, artist studios and workshops spread out over 6 floors. Occupied by gallery owners since the early 1980s, it is now home to more than twenty galleries that can be visited free of charge, each with its own schedule. It remains a prime location for appreciating visual and contemporary art in Montreal, and now boasts its own blog, the Belgo Report, which keeps the public informed of current exhibitions.
