The Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill, which offers performances 364 days a year in its space on Mackay Street, will not be moving into the future Maison du jazz as announced in April 2008.

Many clients expressed their fond memories of the Mackay Street location when the club announced its planed move, and the outpouring of nostalgia led the owners to reconsider their decision. The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and Upstairs will continue to collaborate on other projects to be announced this summer. The Festival de Jazz is still seeking a manager and a chef for its new restaurant.
