Information on the activity

May 27, 2015 to June 1, 2016

Opening night’s NOCTURNE 1 at the MAC welcomes festival goers with an incredible program of artists who cross musical, visual and cultural boundaries in more ways than one.
London-based Iranian futurist, multimedia artist and software developer ASH KOOSHA gives an audiovisual performance of liquid, fractal sound and Virtual Reality imagery and effects, using the Oculus as a trigger. Houndstooth label artist AÏSHA DEVI forefronts her Swiss-born Nepalese-Indian background and abstract techno leanings in metaphysical, intercultural bass music pulsing with meditative vocals and visuals by TIANZHUO CHEN.
London-based techno deconstructor LEE GAMBLE joins forces with animator, motion designer and graphic designer DAVE GASKARTH in a hallucinatory sonic creation that merges the future, the past and imaginary worlds. And Montréal-based interactive cyberculture media collective SUSY TECHNOLOGY adds to the evening’s experimental audiovisual art experience.

Downstairs in the Beverley Webster Rolph Hall (BWR) it’s an exercise of rhythm machines with Mexico’s SIETE CATORCE and his Andean inflected grooves, local trippy sample techno by Sara Magnan as MAGNANIME, the masterful acid infused linearity of Uwe Schmidt as ATOM™, and the brother electro of Mathew and Nathan Jonson’s MIDNIGHT OPERATOR.
