Nathalie Rykiel, daughter of legendary creator Sonia Rykiel, began her career in 1976 as a model, a launch pad for staging fashion shows for the family-run fashion house. She is the brainchild behind collections and concepts such as RYKIEL ENFANT (1983), SONIA RYKIEL MODERN VINTAGE (2000) and RYKIEL WOMAN (2002), among others. She is also interested in literature and the arts, serving on literary prize juries and participating in many art events. An accomplished writer, she wrote a novel, Tu seras une femme, ma fille, in 2010 and a book on fashion, L’Élégance, in 2013.

As the Honorary President of the 2014 Fashion & Design Festival, Ms. Rykiel will deliver a lecture on the theme of elegance, followed by a book signing for L’Élégance.
