Convinced that “music is the process in which the practitioner uses notes and timbres to map out identity and tell a story”, eclectic trumpeter Nicholas Payton unveils "Afro-Caribbean Mixtape", a fascinating work incorporating “post-modern” New Orleans sounds, Central American and Caribbean musical dialects rooted in Africa and influences of contemporary urban black music.
