Yo soy la desintegración is an opera by Jean Piché (music) and Yan Muckle (libretto) inspired by the diary of iconic painter Frida Kahlo. Twenty years after it was originally mounted in 1997, the opera company Chants Libres restages this powerful, evocative work that plunges us into the private world of a young woman who responds to the cruel injuries of fate with tenacity, courage and passion. Designed and directed by Pauline Vaillancourt, with stage design by renowned visual artist Anita Pantin, the opera is performed by Stéphanie Lessard.
