In TIERRA the renowned Canadian choreographer Ginette Laurin joins forces with the Belgian dance maker Jens van Daele [Company Jens van Daele’s
Bruning Bridges]. Tierra covers the theme of earth and how man is in and on it as a tiny speck of dust. A performance like a devastating lava flow, in which the powerful and theatrical dance language of Van Daele merges with the pure, acrobatic and poetic idiom of Laurin.
TIERRA is a whirlwind in which the dancers get lost. Percussionists Alexandra Bellon and Richard van Kruysdijk take with them an arsenal of drums - partly designed by themselves - to perform their energetic, layered composition live.
With an exquisite cast of dancers and musicians from different corners of the globe Van Daele & Laurin put on stage a steamy but also fragile image of mankind. TIERRA is a thrilling collaboration of international stature with which Jens van Daele wants to celebrate his tenth anniversary as a choreographer with you. Tierra is a dance concert not to miss.
