Hymne au quotidien
A new video projection for UQAM’s Pavillon Président-Kennedy salutes students’ resilience
Montreal, July 29, 2021 – The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership are proud to present Hymne au quotidien, a new video projection for UQAM’s Pavillon Président-Kennedy, showing from August 1 to 29, right before the new school year. The work is both a compassionate and humorous take on how the pandemic radically transformed student life and a celebration of the university community’s resilience.
What we have been through is anything but normal. Our daily lives became a kind of reoccurring Groundhog Day. Our slippers, cats and personal space became the focal points of our lives. It was a particularly jarring experience for students, who saw their daily life and hectic, varied routines stripped down to a series of repetitive moments.
With artistic direction by the UQAM team, Hymne au quotidien combines photographs and illustrations punctuated by meaningful key words. The new video projection, skilfully animated and produced by Montreal multimedia company HUB Studio, will resonate with everyone.
