The St. James United Church is a national historic site of Canada and a Quebec religious heritage building. The organ is a four-manual, 64-stop instrument with about 6,000 pipes, originally constructed in 1891 and completely rebuilt in 1938 by Casavant Freres who still maintain the instrument. Great musicians like E. Power Biggs, Simon Preston, Fernando Germani and Andre Marechal have performed at St. James and Raymond Daveluy and Bernard Lagacé had their Montreal debuts here.
