The heart of the island is a magical, festive and warm winter destination thanks to an abundance of original, brilliantly illuminated outdoor activities, festivals, events, art and interactive experiences, close encounters with local artisans, public spaces filled with light and other joyful surprises!
From November to March, these initiatives invite Montrealers and visitors to enjoy the luminous winter wonders of the downtown core that make Montreal such a unique winter destination.
The unifying winter project Les moments lumineux du cœur de l'île is a coordinated effort by the partners in the Alliance du centre-ville: SDC Montréal centre-ville, the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, Tourisme Montréal and the Ville de Montréal. It is based on a series of outdoor initiatives in the heart of Montreal, in the area bounded by Atwater, Sherbrooke and Papineau streets and the St. Lawrence River.
