L'Art en soi Festival

From September 15 to 24, Place des Arts is transforming its outdoor Esplanade into a huge open-air dancefloor for the L’Art en soi Festival. There’s something for everyone to enjoy at six thematic “Soirées dansantes” dance evenings hosted by Philippe Fehmiu, with introductory lessons to various styles of dance, live music, and DJs. Samba, disco and waacking, Guinean dance, Bollywood, Latin dance, and country… sounds and styles to put you in the mood to move! Sway to the live music performances or follow your guide to learn a few basic steps and the specifics of each dance style. New this year: drinks and snacks will be available at the Festival’s bars, as soon as the site opens at 6 p.m.! At noon, “Midis dansés” lunchtime dances feature a series of five 45-minute introductory lessons, suitable for all levels, led by the Power Bhangra group, which specializes in Indian dance. To bring the series to a close, the group will hold a performance open to the general public. It’s free and reservations are not required. Step up to the dance!
