CONSTRUISONS MONUMENTAL!

An incredible replica of the Jacques Cartier Bridge

A participatory artwork, in cardboard, by Olivier Grossetête

SEPTEMBER 10 TO 14, 2018

Marseille, Moscow, Philadelphia – now it’s Montreal’s turn to welcome engineering artist Olivier Grossetête, who has envisioned the biggest cardboard structure ever seen in Quebec: a monumental temporary reproduction of one of our architectural icons, the Jacques Cartier Bridge.

Get ready for an unprecedented human and artistic experience. Let’s build BIG!

Imagine a structure made of cardboard boxes: 45 feet tall and 90 feet long, built without cranes or machines, only the amazing power of builders of all ages working together.

For the 15th anniversary of the Escales improbables de Montréal, join in a unique collective adventure!

CONSTRUCTION AND DECONSTRUCTION of the bridge

OPEN TO ALL

SEPTEMBER 15 AND 16, 2018 – PLACE DES FESTIVALS

On construction day, the climax of this exceptional event, you’re invited to contribute your energy to raising the huge bridge in the Place des Festivals. Then, with the giddiness of the last moments of a carnival, and to make sure people share vivid memories of their shared adventure, the structure will be demolished by the crowd.

To keep the activity environmentally responsible, the 1500 boxes and 24 km of tape required for building the bridge will all be recycled.
