SHOWS TO SEE WITH FRIENDS

Noël dans le parc
November 30 to December 24
Place Émilie-Gamelin

How about dancing outside while sipping mulled wine, with a great contemporary band on stag? That’s something you’ll only find in December, in Place Émilie-Gamelin. There’s no better way to stoke the Holiday spirit! This year, bundle up for some of Quebec’s top hip-hop artists: Kirouac, Sarahmée and Rymz. Not your cup of cocoa? You can also groove to the bubbly electro-pop of Valaire and Jacobus, the sweet folk harmonies of Les Chercheurs d’Or, or the nonconformist jazz of the Benoît Paradis Trio. Oh, and rumour has it that Santa Claus will drop by!

Soul, Motown, funk and disco for the Holidays
December 5 to 28
Le Balcon

Three exceptional singers will be starring at Le Balcon in December, with their warm and sensitive versions of the biggest soul, Motown, funk and disco hits. American singer and actress Meredith Marshall will take the stage for three evenings, belting out classic tunes from the 60s through the 80s. Montreal R&B singer Shaharah will perform on December 12, 20 and 31, while the legendary Kim Richardson will give three performances of her vibrant takes on the classics.

The Nutcracker
December 12 to 30
Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier
Place des Arts

Maybe your Christmas tradition includes taking your niece to see The Nutcracker. This year, why not bring your best friends along? It’s a chance to see the legendary Christmas ballet through adult eyes, while connecting with your inner child! This is one classic that never goes out of style. In Montreal, the tradition is more than 50 years old.

Great Voices of Quebec Sing Christmas
December 17 to 19
Maison symphonique

Here’s your Christmas present from the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, which is bringing together opera singers Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Etienne Dupuis. They’re coveted by venues around the world, but they’ll be spending the Holidays in Montreal, where they’ll deliver their interpretations of the most beautiful Christmas songs, accompanied by the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal.

Noël symphonique 2019
December 21
Maison symphonique

Why settle for listening to Ave Maria at home while decorating the tree, when you can bask in a symphonic interpretation in concert hall, with the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil and five of Quebec’s finest voices. This fourth annual Noël Symphonique concert is a winning mix of orchestral majesty and the sweet harmonies of the Chœur des Jeunes de Laval.
