Main text of post

Hailed by its advocates as an important element in the development of the Quartier des spectacles, the Vitrine culturelle de Montréal

will soon be realized, thanks to contributions of over $1 million from the ministère de la Culture et des Communications, the ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions, the Ville de Montréal and Tourisme Montréal, announced yesterday at a press conference.

The Vitrine culturelle will be both a physical ticket window and a virtual kiosk, giving visitors an overview of cultural happenings and a place to buy full-price or reduced-rate tickets, along the lines of TKTS in New York City. As a hub for information and promotion, it will help reinforce the position of the Quarier des spectacles while taking its natural position as a cultural engine for the Montreal region.

The Vitrine culturelle will be located on Sainte-Catherine Street, in a former ice cream parlor in Place des Arts, at the heart of the Quartier des spectacles.
