A new beginning for the 2-22

September 27, 2010

Main text of post

After many obstacles, the construction of 2-22 Sainte-Catherine, in the Quartier des spectacles, resumed Monday. She was arrested May 31 due to a lack of funding.

Ottawa had in fact delayed the payment of its contribution due to confusion about the status of funded agencies whose offices occupy the 2-22.

Even if this issue is not resolved, the Société de développement Angus (SDA) said it has sufficient financial guarantees, for now, to continue construction of the building.

The SDA specifies, however, she takes a risk, because it is possible that it has a shortfall of $ 1.5 million. There are five floors erected to house several alternative cultural organizations, including the Independent Community Radio 101.5 FM CIBL.

The offices should open in summer 2011. In October 2008, the SDA provided the 2-22 start in May 2010.
