Bombe sur la Main

May 29, 2010

Main text of post

36 artists will “bombed” – with graffiti – 365 feet of building facades on the west side of Saint-Laurent Boulevard, between René-Lévesque and Sainte-Catherine.

36 recognized and emerging Montreal artist have been invited to use shopfronts as gallery walls for their art. The result will be a succession of expressions, making up a 365-foot-long urban fresco on the theme of “the show in the spotlight.” Montrealers and visitors will be able to enjoy a monumental exposition of the artists’ many different styles, right on the street: lettering, illustrations and portraits, figurative and abstract, black and white and colour…

With this project, the Quartier des spectacles is using the opportunity offered by the grand waltz of construction projects in the area to temporarily revitalize the many boarded-up facades on the west side of Saint-Laurent Boulevard.
