THE MUTED NOTE - TANGENTE

THE MUTED NOTE - TANGENTE

Information on the activity

October 2, 2014 to October 5, 2014

The basis of The Muted Note is a suite of eleven songs by Scott Thomson based on poems by P.K. Page, one of the most celebrated figures in Canadian literature. Not only has Susanna Hood choreographed these songs on three other dancers (Ellen Furey, Alanna Kraaijeveld, Emmanuel Proulx), but she will also sing them in performance as the vocalist in The Disguises, with Pierre Tanguay (drums), Nicolas Caloia (double bass), Yves Charuest (alto saxophone), and Scott Thomson (trombone). The choreography, like the songs, will be animated through improvisation, and a key aspect of The Muted Note is the creative input, as improvisers, of both the dancers and the musicians.
