NEUVAINE

Jeanne is a doctor. She feels responsible for the death of a patient and her baby, murdered by an abusive husband. In desperation, she leaves Montreal and drives into the night, stopping at dawn near the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré shrine. She wants to throw herself into the river at the village dock but a young man, François, come to pray for his dying grandmother, prevents her. There is something about François that touches her.
