They dress in black, drive sports cars, engage in strange esoteric rituals, routinely chant demonic incantations, but also cook and do the laundry. This performative documentary opens the doors to the humble homes of Church of Satan members, a group founded in 1966, San Francisco. In the manner of Ulrich Seidl, Scott Cummings meticulously observes his subjects in all their singular triviality, framing rigorous still shots, juxtaposing sometimes baroque, ultimately very human situations. A surprising yet sympathetic encounter with the devil's disciples.
