Amitabh Bachchan (a sublime actor with over 300 films under his belt – he is the living god of Indian cinema!) is often considered the world’s greatest star. Here, he searches for himself, lost deep in his own filmography. Far from being a documentary about this sacred beast, "The Real Superstar" is a mad piece of paranoid existentialism; a montage film composed entirely of clips from his films, in which the iconic actor searches for himself in his innumerable roles. It is an orgiastic, jubilant look back at 55 years of cinema history, the ultimate Bollywood experience, and an astonishing reflection on what it means to be a celebrated actor, idolized by billions of fans around the world.
