The piece presented is part of the career of Margie Gillis, an eminent figure in Canadian dance, who marked the 20th and 21st centuries with her creativity and commitment. Founder of the Margie Gillis Dance Foundation in 1981, she created over 150 works, exploring experimentation and innovation. Celebrating her 50th anniversary in 2023, she continues to pass on her love of dance. Her work, in collaboration with the Legacy Project, explores themes of human nature, social relationships and self-assertion through vibrant, captivating choreography, offering an introspective look at the human condition and the future of dance.
