BEST FRIENDS FOR NEVER: EXHIBITION AND PERFORMANCE NIGHT

BEST FRIENDS FOR NEVER: EXHIBITION AND PERFORMANCE NIGHT

Information on the activity

March 2, 2024 | 17 H

Featuring the work of Adrian Norvid and Marcela Szwarc, Nuit blanche 2024 marks the closing of McBride Contemporain’s first exhibition of the year titled “Best Friends for Never.” For this event, in addition to discovering a series of previously unseen drawings, the gallery will be presenting a two-part program of individual performances by each artist.

Adrian Norvid's work immerses viewers in environments where popular, vernacular and kitsch culture borrow elements ranging from the psychedelic movement to the Victorian to the Gothic aesthetic. Marcela Szwarc is a multidisciplinary artist of Polish origin living in Montreal. Their work lies at the intersection of ecofeminist thought, magic realism and pagan Slavic folk culture, expressed through media such as puppetry, drawing, painting, writing and self-publishing.

This event is part of a wider program of activities taking place at the Belgo building, home to numerous galleries, artist-run centers and artists' studios, open to the public as part of Nuit blanche 2024.

- March 2, starting at 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.
