LATIN DANCE AND MUSIC EVENING
This year’s Latin Evening will celebrate cumbia! Both Colombian musical genre and folk-dance styles, cumbia is now danced throughout Latin America.
Learn the wide range of emotions it expresses, along with its sensual and fluid movements, inspired by African dance, as you join Ballet Raíces de Colombia for an introductory lesson. Next up, Bumaranga will hit the stage with its blend of percussion and flutes, and an added modern touch, courtesy of a few electric instruments. A colourful fusion of Afro-Colombian musical sounds. DJ El Heavy will bring the evening to its conclusion in a festive atmosphere!
The site opens at 6:30 p.m. with the activity and introductory lesson beginning at 7 p.m., followed by live music and a DJ starting at 8 p.m.
The TEMPÉO Dance and Music Festival consists of six festive dance evenings, each including an introduction to a particular dance style, Bollywood, Haitian, disco, 1960s, Latin, and Indigenous, accompanied by live music and DJs. Join in and get moving, on the Esplanade at Place des Arts, from September 14 to 16 and September 21 to 23!
