CANASIAN ARTS ON THE MOVE

Hosted by the CanAsie Arts Network, two events will be presented on the digital platform on May 25 and 26, to launch the final week of the Festival. The prize-winning film Big Fight in Little Chinatown will be broadcast online on May 25 at 7 p.m. EDT with director Karen Cho in attendance. Also, to showcase artists from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montréal, CanAsian Arts On The Move will take place on May 26.

Now in its third year, this pan-Canadian celebration is a national showcase for many artists of the Asian diaspora. In Montréal, music artists Ziya Tabassian (tombak) and Maryam Tazhdeh (târ) will participate in this national multidisciplinary simulcast event starting at 7:00 p.m. EDT. The duo will perform the compositions of Maryam Tazhdeh drawing from Persian classical music.
