Information on the activity

Dates to come

Fierté littéraire, whose slogan is “Let's celebrate our queer literature and its authors,” is a not-for-profit organisation since April 2019 but it has been active since 2012. Fierté littéraire exposes our 2SLGBTQIA literature not only to our communities but to the rest of the people. We stand affirmatively for our literature and our authors.

The theme of our 10th edition is “Les mots qui démasquent” or “Words that Unmask” and is a reference to the emancipation of 2SLGBTQIA persons and well as to the pandemic we have lived with over the past year. For a sixth consecutive year, the “Combat aux mots” (Words Challenge), activity inspired by the French CBC network radio “Combat des livres” (Books Challenge), will feature four 2SLGBTQIA community personalities who will champion a work authored by persons of the same community during this live event before an audience. Every 20 minutes, a title will be eliminated by the panel of personalities and when only two titles remain, it will become the public's choice. This challenge represents a unique opportunity to discover books and their authors.

Hosted by: Amélie Boivin-Handfield
Panel: Alain Labonté, Coco Belliveau, Nathalie DiPalma and Samuel Larochelle

- Presented in French!
