In the heart of its space, Galerie Laroche/Joncas brings together two Montreal artists that it admires, Dominique Sirois and Robb Jamieson. Presented under the title Low Rise Sun, this show is not co-produced works, but rather a natural dialogue between these two individual practices, one that embraces the conceptual and formal affinities of their works.

The gleaming sun is an ambiguous force that both welcomes and concludes the day. Leaning into an intimacy and sensuality diffused by an ochre light, that moment preludes an ongoing cycle, both the end of a space in time, and the beginning of another. In Low Rise Sun, this image and its rhizomes extend to make a familiar connector for the artists and offer them points of convergence.
