In parallel with Low Rise Sun, we are pleased to present the Montreal version of Frankie Gardiner’s solo exhibition The Mountain. The exhibition with then be presented at La Shed located in Gabarus Cape Breton, our satellite space inaugurated last summer.
Composed of recent paintings realized with a style reminiscent of impressionnism, the paintings subjects tackled by the artist are inspired from her daily life but also from her imagination. Landscapes, portraits of people engaged in hobbies such as playing the guitar or rowing a boat on a lake in an idyllic environment. Male or female characters focused on daydreaming or even sleeping.
The scenes that the artist depicts appear to be images at the threshold of reality and dream.
