The Magnificent Three is a blazing musical journey from Iraq to Spain, from the banks of the Tigris to Andalusia, from Punjab to Montreal!
The undisputed master of the oud Naseer Shamma promises a magnificent performance in his fascinating dialogue with Ashraf Sharif Khan on the sitar and Carlos Pinana on flamenco guitar, with the participation of Shahbaz Hussain on percussion. This ensemble offers the audience improvisations and original compositions, where Iraqi maqâm, Indo-Pakistani ragas and flamenco cycles meet, tame each other and interweave, all in total, fusional harmony!
What happens when prominent artists learn to know each other, perform together on several occasions, each taking the time to immerse themselves in the technique of the others, to draw on their heritage, to explore their repertoire?
