Dates to come
With over 100 musicians on stage and the unparalleled direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the OM’s performance of Mahler’s stunning “Tragic” Symphony is sure to be riveting. What better way to launch our 40th season than with a program of masterful proportions!
Nothing kicks things off like the lively Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin. In his Montréal debut, prodigy Tony Siqi Yun will be performing Clara Schumann’s only orchestral work, her Piano Concerto. It’s a Romantic-era gem! And last but not least, Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 will bring this fantastic evening to a close. Symphonic music was never the same again after the revolutionary hammer blows in this piece, known for its themes of fate and tragedy.
