The magic begins when he lays his fingers on the strings of his kora or his guitar. Music fans are plunged immediately into the heart of West Africa, in Mandinka country, where history is conveyed orally from generation to generation. Diely Mori Tounkara studied with his brother, the famous guitarist Djelimady Tounkara, a soloist with the Super Rail Band of Bamako, and kora virtuoso Toumany Kouyaté. He has been part of many groups in Montréal, including Taafé Fanga and Kabawuko. Festival-goers will get to see him in his first personal project.
