Q&A WITH THE AMBASSADOR NGABO
Come ask your questions and discuss with our ambassador Ngabo, live on the Montréal Pride instagram!
NGABO is a Congolese-Canadian singer-songwriter who has been part of the Québec musical landscape since his arrival in America in the early 2000s. After a first album produced by Jérôme Minière, which led him to perform from Europe to Louisiana, he created Dear Denizen and then released two EPs independently produced by Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes, Wolf Parafe, Suuns). This new incarnation of the artist performs regularly on the Montréal alternative venue circuit where his energetic, lively performances and the hypnotic charisma of NGABO help attract a horde of devoted fans.
After a more advanced foray into electronic music with ABAKOS, a project he founded with his compatriot Pierre Kwenders, NGABO returns with BEC (Belle Existence Chaude), which marks a flamboyant and touching return to his roots. Directed by Sylvain Deschamps (Klô Pelgag, VioleTT Pi), the EP offers a hybrid, dance and emotionally rich music, creating warm soundscapes that borrow as much from 80s synth-pop as from indie rock; a fertile ground where the stage beast comes to plant his soul voice and assert his singular identity as much as his transcendental reflections on the intimate and the sacred.
