Homage to Our Humanity

Produced by Montréal en Histoires and 4D Art, Homage to Our Humanity, a work by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, creators of Cité Mémoire, will light up Old Montreal and the Quartier des Spectacles.

Affected by the recent events, the artists created a tableau for Cité Mémoire in order to provide a moment of reflection on what we all have faced this year due to the pandemic. The tableau comprises two elements:

  • A flame for humanity on the walls of Montreal's Palais de Justice. Near this flame, humanity's best qualities will scroll down in the 17 languages most frequently spoken in Montreal.

  • The faces of hundreds of Montrealers, seen in Cité Mémoire and humanity's best qualities, will occupy the walls of Cité Mémoire in Old Montreal and in the Quartier des Spectacles.

The artists offer this initiative with the hope that it will provide some solace during these challenging times.
