Dates to come

A rising figure on the dance scene, winner of the 2018 Grand Prix de la Critique in Paris, Skeels returns to Danse Danse after Rose of Jericho, presented in 2017. This dancer with an unconventional career path, a Montrealer by adoption, is developing a subtle and sophisticated choreographic language, fuelled by an insatiable curiosity and a passionate love of dance, notably krump, contemporary dance and contact improvisation. This time he ventures into the realm of dance–theatre with Past Rooms, the result of a collaboration with Toronto playwright David di Giovanni, set to the music of Icelandic cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir (who composed the score for Chernobyl and Joker). On the eve of his wife’s burial, a man plagued by his inner demons looks back on his life, haunted by the remnants of a hidden past. Dense and troubling.
