LA FIN DES TERRES

Through the thoughts of 17 young people born after the 1995 referendum, Loïc Darses ponders their sense of identity at a time when the political autonomy question is slowly fading away. Juxtaposing their testimonials with shots of iconic sites in Quebec’s recent history, the young director engages the viewer in an intimate, meditative dialogue, inviting us to form our own opinion. Its form both bold and lyrical, this feature documentary is a three-act reflection on community and land, with young people of wildly different backgrounds making comments ranging from the astonishing to the bitter.
