After a dozen Collège de Maisonneuve students tried to go to Syria to join the Islamic State, the school’s administration launched the “Vivre-ensemble” (living together) program, aimed at students at risk of radicalization. Two years later, Maisonneuve covers a year in the life of the school, examining how it is recovering from the episode while promoting desegregation of its communities. We meet Adam, Angel, Rayene, Éric, Rachel, Samuel, Kaella, Idir, Diane and Momo – teachers, outreach workers and students – in this feature documentary that goes straight to the heart of the question of identity-based tensions in a fast-changing Quebec.
