JORDAN RIVER ANDERSON, LE MESSAGER
Information on the activity
Dates to come
Little Jordan River Anderson had a rare and serious muscular disease. Because there was no agreement between the federal and Manitoba governments, he died in 2005 after spending all five years of his short life in hospital. This sad story led, two years later, to “Jordan’s Principle,” a measure guaranteeing Indigenous children fair access to public services. Centred on heartbreaking testimonials from Jordan’s loved ones and those who fought to have Indigenous families’ rights respected, Alanis Obomsawin’s 53rd film is a disturbing but essential document.
