LE CHANT D'EMPÉDOCLE
It’s called the cradle of Western civilization. Greece, the land of philosophers, democracy – and revolt. That’s where it all began, could all end – and, maybe, start over? After exploring the Greek crisis in his epic Combat au bout de la nuit in 2017, Sylvain L’Espérance joins forces with Marie-Claude Loiselle for this new film, which approaches Greece as a land of feelings and metamorphoses. Through a series of impressionistic shots, some caressed by the smooth narration of Frédérique Duchêne, others followed by organic chanting, Le chant d’Empédocle becomes a captivating cosmic voyage.
