Cascades by Collectif Blackbox
A rainstick is a musical instrument capable of creating a much greater variety of sounds than you might think. Its mysterious tones pique our curiosity and inspire us to explore the world of sound.
With this version of the instrument, Collectif Blackbox transforms the rainstick by adding sound and light effects. Tip the sticks to hear the beads tumble and make new sound-and-light effects. Cascades is an interactive installation that invites us to play together and create even more musical possibilities.
This prototype is on preview display to test its durability in winter conditions, and for a public test of the installation’s interactivity. The final version of Cascades will be presented during MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE in 2021.
