The International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) and the McCord Museum have organized a full program of documentaries on fashion, photography and artistic expression. There will be a screening with guests the last Thursday of each month. Mark it on your calendar!

Screening of the documentary Black Indians, which focuses on a little-known minority in the United States: people of dual Indigenous and African-American heritage. The film takes a look at Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans and the Black Indian community tradition of staging a flamboyant parade in honour of its ancestors.Full of joyful music and dance, Black Indians explores the roots of call and response, a musical form that is the last living African cultural tradition and one of the sources of jazz.Presented as part of Black History Month, the screening will be followed by a discussion of the issue of the expression of ethnically mixed identities, hosted by Michael A. Farkas, president of the Black History Month round table.
