LE BRUNCH DES FEMMES EN GASTRONOMIE

LE BRUNCH DES FEMMES EN GASTRONOMIE

Information on the activity

Dates to come

In a male-dominated industry, more and more female chefs throughout the world are finding their place in the sun. Against all odds, these women earn their stripes and redefine the rules of the game. On February 23, MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE will host a brunch to honour important female figures in gastronomy. Our special guests will help give a voice to those we don't hear from often enough. This exciting theme will be the heart of our brunch hosted by Geneviève Vézina-Montplaisir, co-editor in chief of Caribou magazine. Our guests will include Estérelle Payany and Vérane Frédiani, who authored the guide, Cheffes – 500 femmes qui font la différence dans les cuisines de France, as well as female chefs from Quebec, such as Maurín Arellano, who leads a movement dubbed Les Femmes Chefs de Montréal. During the brunch, the aforementioned book, which is not distributed in Canada, will be available to be purchased and autographed. A screening of Vérane Frédiani's documentary The Goddesses Of Food will complete the event.
