MARTIN ROUSSEL ET MJ CYR | PIXEL

Singer MJ Cyr and pianist Martin Roussel invite you to discover Pixel (2019), an album strongly based in current jazz but also in classical and pop music. The two musicians offer inventive arrangements of standards (CCR, Pink Floyd, Cole Porter) and original compositions offering various musical colors. You are invited to a dialogue full of virtuosity and lyricism. Well respected musicians and educators on the music scene, MJ Cyr and Martin Roussel have in recent years been part of about twenty concerts, both in Quebec and at festivals or renowned clubs in Europe. During the presentation of Pixel in Belgium and at the Festi Jazz in Rimouski, the duo provoked a lot of enthusiasm from the public. Co-produced with MJ Cyr, singer-songwriter, Pixel is Martin Roussel's third jazz album, following Planetarium released in 2012 as a quartet. For this concert, the duo will also perform two new compositions.
